In a compact format of an intensive morning session we shed light on recent regulatory topics and give helpful compliance tips. We will cover biostimulants, which are no longer considered as plant protection products, but now fall under the EU Fertiliser Regulation and REACH Regulation. We will outline the progress of PFAS and PFAS restrictions, which also affect pesticides. We will build on your knowledge about the Farm to Fork strategy, especially where the initiative stands before the 2024 election. You will also discover how the EU sanction framework will affect data sharing under the regulations on chemicals, especially the REACH Regulation but also the EU Plant Protection Regulation 1107/2009. Join us also for the latest update on copper and other active substances.

Learning objectives

  • Learn how PFAS restrictions will affect the industry, how the industry could benefit from derogations and exemptions under the upcoming PFAS restrictions and to what extent it will be possible to ask for derogations of PFAS in both, in REACH chemicals and in plant protection products (PPP).
  • Learn about the interplay between EU sanctions and regulations on chemicals, especially REACH but also the PPP Regulation. Learn how data sharing between chemical companies is affected by sanction schemes. Learn how task forces, SIEFs and consortia established for regulation purposes under different chemical regimes comply with EU sanctions on Russia and with EU sanctions when providing access to registrants under other jurisdiction.
  • Learn about current regulatory challenges in the biostimulants sector, such as the protection of scientific data, borderline cases with plant protection products and the importance of the biostimulant claim, or current issues facing the industry with innovative microbial biostimulants that have no place in the current biostimulant/fertilisers legislation. We will explore these challenges in depth and discuss possible solutions.
  • Learn from an update on the Farm to Fork Strategy and where the initiative stands before the 2024 election.
  • Learn about copper and other active substances
