Florian Antony

Oeko-Institut, Germany

Florian Antony, senior researcher at Oeko-Institut’s Sustainable Products and Material Flows division, has a dedicated focus on various kinds of sustainability metrics (including Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Environmental Footprinting, Product Sustainability Assessment (PROSA) - with regard to both methodology development and application. Prior to his work at the Oeko-Institut’s, Mr. Antony studied Biology und History at the University of Freiburg. During his doctorate (topic: „Operationalization of the sustainability potential of biomimetic products or processes“) he worked on Life Cycle Assessments and Product Sustainability Assessments of biomimetic and bio-inspired products. Since 2013 he works at the Oeko-Institut e.V. as an expert in Life cycle assessment, corporate carbon footprinting and product carbon footprinting. Since September 2013 he manages the topic area “Methods” within Oeko-Institut’s Sustainable Products and Material Flows division. As part of his work at Oeko-Institut, he assessed the potential applicability of PEF results in the context of ecolabelling detergents.


Paula Barreleiro

Werner & Mertz, Germany

Paula Barreleiro is responsible for product development (home & oersonal care and professional cleaning) at Werner & Mertz. She has more than 18 years’ experience in consumer goods industry, broad experiences across fabric care, surface cleaners, dish and personal care. She holds a pHD in Physical Chemistry is Board member of the division "Chemistry of Laundering" in the German Chemical Society (GDCh).


Dirk Bockmühl

Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Germany,

Dirk Bockmühl obtained his PhD in Microbiology on the molecular pathogenicity of Candida albicans. Until 2010 he worked in the consumer goods industry, where he was responsible for numerous microbiological projects for cosmetics and the laundry and home care sector. Afterwards he changed to the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kleve, Germany, as a professor for hygiene and microbiology. His research interest is in domestic hygiene, especially in the development of consumer-related test methods for laundry and cleaning, and in the research on microbial communities in the domestic setting. Professor Bockmühl is a member of the scientific advisory board of the Sepawa and a board member of the division "Chemistry of Laundering" in the German Chemical Society (GDCh).


Enda Carey

DuPont Industrial Biosciences, The Netherlands

Enda Carey is an Application Scientist in Home & Personal Care at DuPont Nutrition & Bioscience, the Netherlands. He has a PhD in Physical Chemistry and has worked 5 years in formulating surfactant matrixes for various industrial markets.


Leo Gros

Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, Germany

In 2016, Leo Gros retired as a Professor at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences after 35 years of service. From 1997 until 2013 he was the Vice-President for the Department of Chemistry & Biology as well as for International Relations (University and Practice Cooperation). He is now a member of the University Advisory Board and Special Delegate to the University Executive Committee.


Carlos Hanisch

SGS Institut Fresenius, Germany

Carlos Hanisch, Toxicologist and Biochemist, is working as an Innovation Product Manager for SGS Institut Fresenius. He is specialized on in vitro alternative methods for detergents and cosmetics and focused on performances test for customized claim-support. He has more than 6 years’ experience in in vitro techniques and toxicological, scientific issues.


Helen Herd

McBride, UK

Helen Herd is R&D Director for McBride and leads a team of scientists covering formulation and packaging development along with product innovation and regulatory affairs. McBride manufactures a broad range of homecare powder and liquid products to the top 50 Retailers in Europe. She has worked at McBride for over 20 years in mainly homecare product research & development but also European category marketing, technical services and customer logistics. She is a graduate chemist and has a MBA.


Magnus Larsson

Testfakta, Sweden

Anne-Laure Scelo

Staphyt Regulatory, France

Anne-Laure Scelo is an agronomist with a PhD in environmental toxicology. Since 2018, she works as a regulatory expert for Staphyt responsible for environmental risk assessment (including QSAR screening and higher tier modelling). Before, she has worked as ecotoxicologist at the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety in the field of Biocides and REACh regulations.

Bengt Vernberg

Testfakta, Sweden

Bengt Vernberg is responsible for Business Development at Testfakta Research Nordic in Sweden, which is an independent test and research company specialising in laboratory testing and evaluation of products for consumers and professional users. He has a background in international finance and has worked in leading positions for companies in the telecom, IT and electronics sector prior to launching Testfakta in 2001.


Sara Wagner-Leifhelm

Stiftung Warentest, Germany

Sara Wagner-Leifhelm holds a PhD in analytical chemistry. She is currently working as a project manager for Stiftung Warentest and is engaged in the testing of washing and cleaning agents among others. She has several years of experience in analytical and product development in an industrial environment.
