Paulien Adriaanse is a Senior Scientist at Wageningen University & Research. She works on environmental fate and exposure modelling of pesticides mainly in the area of surface waters. She has been a member of the EFSA Panel on Plant Protection Products and their Residues since 2015. Since September 2019 she has been a member of the EFSA WG on the Revision of the EFSA Guidance on the risk assessment for bees.

With a background in computational fluid mechanics in the environment, his previous work experience includes employment as technical software engineer in various fields including space science, race car aerodynamics and windfarm design.

Nadja Stadlinger is an Ecotoxicologist and joined the Swedish Chemicals Agency (KEMI) in Sundbyberg, Sweden, in 2021. Since then she has been working at the unit of environmental assessment with pesticide fate evaluations. She has a previous background as a researcher at Stockholm University.

Michael Stemmer started to work at the Austrian AGES in 2005 as an Environmental Risk Evaluator for the use of pesticides. He has been a member of the EFSA PPR Panel from 2015-2018. He joined the working groups on PEC in soil, aged sorption and FOCUS surface water repair action.

Janice Villeneuve has been working with the Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency in the Environmental Assessment Directorate since 2000. She has 22 years of experience working in the area of environmental risk assessment of pesticides and has experience in many aspects of environmental risk assessment and mitigation. Recently Janice has moved to the role of National Manager Water Monitoring.

Marc Voltz has been working as Research Director at the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment,(INRAE) in Montpellier. He used to be head of the Laboratory for the Study of Soil-Agrosystem-Hydrosystem interactions (LISAH), a research unit under INRAE, IRD and Institut Agro, and then was leader of the air, water and soil research topic at the Environment and Agronomy Division at INRAE. Marc is also an Adjunct Professor in Soil Hydrology at L'Institut Agro, the School of Agronomy in Montpellier.

Mark Williams has a background in biochemistry and biomedicine and is a Policy Officer in the Pesticides and Biocides Unit at DG SANTE. Mark is working primarily on the implementation of Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009, focussed on topics related to the approval of active substances and the decision making process for new substances, renewal of approval and confirmatory information. In addition, Mark works on the development of new legislation and guidance, including most recently the new implementing rules for renewal of approval and the guidance on emergency authorisations. He is also involved in various activities related to groundwater and drinking water, and is responsible for the implementation of the Plant Protection Products Application Management System (PPPAMS). Before joining the Commission in 2015 he worked at the Health and Safety Executive in the UK.

Mechteld ter Horst is a Scientist at Wageningen Environmental Research. She is part of a team that develops and applies the pesticide fate models for surface waters, TOXSWA and leaching to groundwater, PEARL. She is working in national and international projects on fate and exposure modelling of pesticides and on development of guidance and methods for the environmental risk assessment of pesticides. She is experienced in higher-tier modelling techniques as calibration, sensitivity analysis and optimisation of model parameters.
