Anne Alix joined Dow AgroSciences, now Corteva Agriscience, in 2011, as Policy and Risk Management Leader for Europe, Middle East and Africa. She has been working in the area of plant protection products risk assessment for 20 years, holding positions with the French National Institute for Research in Agronomy (INRA), the French Ministry of Agriculture and as head of the Environment and Ecotoxicology risk assessment unit at the French Agency on the safety of Food (AFSSA, now ANSES).

risk assessment unit at the French Agency on the safety of Food (AFSSA, now ANSES), Gertie Arts holds a PhD in natural sciences and works at Wageningen University and Research as a Senior Ecologist and Ecotoxicologist in the environmental risk assessment team. She is involved in ecological, ecotoxicological studies and risk assessment for organic and other contaminants, especially risk assessment for aquatic macrophytes and plants as well as plant ecology and ecotoxicology.

Will Askew is a Study Director at Applied Insect Science. He develops, directs and reports ecotox and bioanalytic studies, mostly centred around microbial biopesticides. He has a background in entomology and molecular biology and is currently completing a part-time PhD on the topic of ‘Development and Biosafety of Novel Biopesticides’ with Newcastle University.

Having worked as Environmental specialist for the Ministry of the Environment/Ministry of Agriculture in Lima, Peru at the start of her career, Rosa, has also held positions as Group Leader Global Regulatory Affairs and Global Registration Manager for Knoell Germany.

Roma Gwynn is the Vice-President of the International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association (IBMA) and has worked within sustainable agriculture for over 30 years. She has been an expert for EU-funded projects for regulation of biocontrol agents, the OECD Biopesticide Steering Group and EU Commission. She has been involved in the development of biopesticide regulatory guidance (FAO/WHO, EU, Kenya).

Jürgen Kohl is a Senior Plant Pathologist with long-year experience in the development of biological control of fungal plant pathogens. He is currently a Senior Researcher at Wageningen University and is also the Research Coordinator of the EU project BIOCOMES.

Eric Liégeois is a Senior Policy Officer at the European Commission in charge of Pesticides Legislation, moderating the Working Group on biopesticides and contributing to risk mitigation measures policy for DG SANTE. Formerly he was the Head-of-Sector for Fertilisers, Plastics and Circular Economy at DG GROW.

Francesco Pennacchio is Professor of Entomology at the University of Naples “Federico II”. He is also a visiting Professor at Newcastle University, and coordinator of an international network of PhD Schools in “Insect Science”. He is member of the Italian National Academy of Entomology and currently serves as President of the Italian Entomological Society (Società Entomologica Italiana), and as member of the Council for International Congresses of Entomology.

Lucius Tamm is Head of Department of Crop Sciences at the Swiss Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) in Frick. He has more than 25 years plant pathology R&D experience working on cereals, potatoes, grapevine and horticultural crops. He leads FiBL’s R&D activities for the development of fungicides and inducers of resistance and has also been involved in the development of improved registration procedures for novel plant protection products.

Mark Whittaker has a PhD in entomology and is an established expert on the registration of biopesticides. He is the Managing Director of APIS, a specialist contract research lab for microbial safety testing.
